ANNUAL ARTS & CRAFTS FAIR (ACF)
The 19th Annual Arts & Crafts Fair was held in November 2025.  It is a favorite event in the community and much-anticipated every year.  Tables piled high with a wide variety of hand-crafted artistry offered as merchandise fill the ballroom.  All of it by talented artist vendors from inside and outside the Cascades community.   Non-resident vendors may participate by invitation only.  Each year, all residents are invited by the Art League to register as artist vendors for the Fair.  Every year has a different result, which keep it interesting.  The Arts & Crafts Fair (ACF) is welcomed by all as an awesome opportunity for holiday shopping and taking in the sights.  For the vendors, it is an opportunity to display their talent and hopefully reap some rewards.

ARCHITECTUAL CONTROL BOARD (ACB)
Established in and defined by Cascades controlling documents, this 3 to 5 member independent committee is responsible for enforcing the community’s architectural standards.  This committee reviews homeowners’ applications for modifications, approving or denying them, according to the guidelines outlined in the CC&R’s and published guidelines. When a vacancy occurs, the Management Company notifies the community that a new member is sought who is asked to provide a resume.  The new member is then selected by the current members, but does not need the approval of the Board of Directors.

ART LEAGUE
For the past 19 years, the Art League has organized and brought to fruition the Annual Arts & Crafts Fair (ACF).  A description of the ACF is above.  Additionally, the Art League keeps a small art show in motion by the standing glass display case in the Clubhouse corridor.  Requests are taken from individuals or groups who wish to use the case for month-long exhibitions.  Responsibility for the key and display belongs to the user.  The month of November is on permanent hold for use by the VFRC (Veterans and First Responders Club).  Further, the League participates in the Annual Activity Fair and seeks to bring new member support for future events.  It encourages the building of friendships, and bids all artists and artisans to share their talent with the rest of the community.

ART MATTERS-PAINTING
Art stimulates your imagination and talent!! Whether or not you think you have talent, this class is a place to develop and expand your imagination, enjoy and socialize, while opening a new world in the art field using any medium you prefer. Classes are every Thursday morning from 10:00am to Noon in the Arts and Crafts Room.

ARTISTS AT CASCADES
The Artists at Cascades League meets on Wednesday at 1-3 pm in the Arts and Crafts room. They are free. We most often work on projects of our own choice. Occasionally, we select projects that we all do together using YouTube sessions to follow along.  These options are also shown on our website. Lastly, in the past, we have been honored to have artists within our community who will offer classes for periods ranging from 4 weeks to 6 weeks. They are also free.
In addition, the Artists at Cascades offers a dedicated online gallery, a vibrant showcase of the extraordinary talents right here in our community. We believe in the power of art to inspire, connect, and enrich lives, and we're thrilled to share the incredible creations of our fellow Cascadians with you. We began with the classic artist categories: painting, pottery, stained glass, needlework, and jewelry. Since then, we have added: Photography, Culinary Arts, and the newest categories: Modelling, Authors, Writers, Poets, and Video Creators. We are receptive to all forms of artistic endeavor. Such as woodworking, sculpture, metal working, digital art, calligraphy, collectibles etc. See www.artistsatcascades.com.

SCARLET MAD HATTERS
20 years ago, in a town in California, Sue Ellen Cooper's friend was about to turn 55 and was depressed at the prospect. Sue Ellen went into a thrift store and bought her a red fedora. Recalling the words of Jenny Joseph's poem, "when I am old, I will wear purple, and a red hat that doesn't go, and doesn't suit me", she encouraged her friend to embrace her age and grow old, not gracefully, but playfully. And so, the Red Hat Society was born. The Scarlet Mad Hatters are a registered chapter of the Red Hat Society. We are a group of "women of a certain age" who meet monthly to laugh, chat, dress up in our regalia and go to lunch in different restaurants on the Treasure Coast. We have no redeeming qualities beyond friendship and having a good time! We eat dessert first (if we want to), laugh and often make a spectacle of ourselves as we enjoy a most pleasant afternoon. Come join us on the second Monday of the month at 11:30 am in the library where we gather before venturing out. Wear your red hat (or anything red in your hair), a purple shirt and bring your senses of humor and adventure!

SNORKEL & SCUBA CLUB

At Cascades, tennis is a central part of community life, offering residents exceptional facilities and a welcoming, active playing environment. Whether you enjoy relaxed rallies or high-level match play, the courts offer an excellent setting year-round.

Our community supports a wide range of tennis programs and playing opportunities. Residents can take part in casual drop-in play, organized clinics, and competitive men’s and women’s leagues designed to challenge experienced players while remaining accessible and enjoyable. These leagues and events foster both friendly competition and strong social connections among residents.

Professional instruction is led by our Tennis Pro, John Koahou, who oversees and runs many of the tennis programs. John offers private and group lessons, skill-building clinics, and structured programs tailored to beginners, intermediate players, and advanced competitors alike. His hands-on approach and deep knowledge of the game help players improve technique, strategy, and overall confidence on the court.
